WOUNDED

How did it come to this?
I never thought it would end like this
Tears rolling down my cheeks like a stream
Friends’ trying to console me, but it’s not so easy
Family trying to put things together, but nothing can be fixed
Why didn’t anyone tell me about this?
I don’t want to imagine what it is
I don’t want to go through all of this
The hurt, the pain
How can I live without this?
A pregnancy that is frustrating
A lot on the inside and noting on the out, but lost in a world of limitations
I’m on fire
Fire on the outside
But my fire is going down
It feels like sunshine under a cover
It feels like being in no man’s land
It’s feels like it’s me against my world…

FAITH AGAINST FATE

I've been through a million worries
I've survived over a million troubles
I've traveled over a million journeys
Just to find happiness let it eludes me
The clouds are dark over me
Love seems from me
I'm just a kid with a broken heart
I need a shoulder to lean so that I don't fall apart

I've been through tough times and seasons
I've been through pains without no reason
I didn't want things this way, but life has not been easy
I've been left forlorn just because I chose to love
I pray to live another day to survive the hurts
With so much uncertainty I'm living in wishful thoughts
But I know I'll win against all odds

Let me play my symphonious medley
But the world won't hear me
I'm broken so are my strings without any remedy
Let me sing and dance to a brave new world
I can't because the songs sound like an elegy
Let me say goodbye cos it's already dusk
But there's hope cos there's always dawn after dusk

EMERGE!

As a Leadership Coach, I've been had several deep conversations with people who were really depressed, hopeless and helpless during my consultancy sessions. Most of them had actually given up on life before our meeting and were only a minute breathe away from ending their own lives.

Their problems could be summarized in the usual category of being financial, emotional, educational, and psychological. Before I give them solutions to their problems, I usually ask them these two questions:

(1). What have you been living for?
(2). What do you want to still live for?

On countless occasions I see them going through sober reflections, and then into critical thinking. Perhaps they've never thought about life in my perspectives.

As it's often said: "Life will not give you what you deserve, but what you make a demand for."

I remember precisely in 2012 when I published my first book: 'A Difference Maker'. Prior to then, it was as though I wouldn't achieve my dream of being an author. I really wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of people. I wanted to give hope to the hopeless; help to the helpless; and faith to faithless. I wanted people to become difference makers in their spheres of influence.

But I had a huge challenge! Yes, I did

I didn't have the finance for the book publishing. But one thing kept me fighting on and today I'm still pushing on because of it. That's PURPOSE!

Purpose drove me into the street to seek financing for my book. Purpose keeps me awake at night everyday seeking ways to better myself. Purpose pushes me into building relationships that will propel for the journey. Purpose wakes me up from my sleep to fight to make every day count. Purpose is my personality, brand and influence.

I really want people to become better in life. That's what I've been living for and what I'm still living for. I speak with people every day and make efforts to make them succeed. That's the passion that gave birth to my human-capital development company InspireForte Solutions. We just want to keep changing lives and building people as our slogan reads.

Everyone was created for and with a purpose!

Friends, as you journey through life ask yourself those questions again and surely, you'll find answers. But if you don't you can seek our consultancy service and be assured, you'll find THE REAL YOU that your world NEEDS to emerge.

Cheers!

EWO…

Waking up this morning to see my neighbour jostling up and down the place got me thinking that he had won a lottery. To my annoyance the reason for his happiness is that Tacha was not evicted on the popular BBNaija show. Na wa o… wonders will never end in this country. We celebrate things that obviously can’t add value to our lives. Like Tacha, even the good characteristics we should be looking out for and expect to see in people we call our role models we cannot see. The revolution Uncle Sowore (egbon don’t worry God is with you) is protesting for needs to actually start in our personal lives. After all, there is no forest without trees the same way there is no government without people.
Chai there is God o…so a group of people can come together to raise N60m to give to somebody that actually does nothing to get this huge sum of money. Sadly enough when it comes to educational competitions they will give the prize winner food stuffs as if the person complained of hunger and a paltry sum of N100k. What a wawu! See eh we need to fear God in this country (in Aunty Success’ voice). In fact if rapture needs to take place and Nigeria should be the first place.
Remember years back when one Uncle Eedris Abdulkareem sang Nigeria jagaja, and everybody thought that he have kolo. Even our ugliest President till date (no be talk am o) thought the same then too and banned the song. But now you see true true this country’s sense have off. In fact many are mad but few are roaming. How can Vigilante rescue Police from kidnappers ahhhh… our mumu don do because this “faji” no gel at all. I have finish transmitting my transmission my kwantri fipo, this is NIGERIA!(in Uncle Falz voice). Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh Ewo…!

UNITED MORE CLINICAL THAN CHELSEA, BUT NOT BETTER

It was an entertaining game by all standards, but not one that reflected the performances on display by both teams.

Here are my afterthoughts from reviewing the game:

UNITED

United's emphatic 4-0 win must have surely surprised even the staunchest of their supporters, but take nothing from them, they deserve their win for scoring goals. After all it's often said that: "Winning is all that matters.", and to win games to need score goals or score more than your opponent.

In retrospect, United's performance was far and between, and will not also be considered a threat by viewing top managers in the league. Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino will smile rather than shiver at the way Chelsea were able to create easy goalscoring chances against United. The Blues hit the woodwork twice and forced United goalie, David De Gea into saves. If those balls had gone in, United would have possibly have been losing 3-1 before their other three goals were scored.

Solskjaer's team is good, but not superb enough to trouble the league duopoly of City and Liverpool. If such performance was against the aforementioned duo, United would have been left for dead. Anyway, United survived to fight for another game.

CHELSEA

You must surely feel pity for Chelsea Boss Frank Lampard as his team were dismantled by a merciless counterattacking United side. But the positive is that Chelsea were on the front foot for most of the game, but profligacy in front of goal combined with defensive errors doomed them. Credit to Lamps for his bold selection as it takes 'cojones’ to put up with a transfer ban, a raft of injuries to key players and a transfer ban.

This was a game of 'what its' for Chelsea and Lampard. What if Abraham and scored? What if Emerson had scored to equalized? What if the team had taken their chances? Football is a game of fine margins and details and this time none was in Chelsea's favour. They can't afford such awful defending against City, Liverpool or Spurs. In all, it was a good performance, but awful result. It's so sad that the Blues find themselves in the relegation zone at this early state of the season. Frank has a lot of work to do. Hopefully Chelsea will learn to be able to fight for another game.

WE DIE HERE…

Water don pass garri o. Most times I wonder why and how on earth a perfect gentleman like me became a Nigerian. I’m sure many of you are still in Wonderland about this too, but please don’t go and price sniper o – we all die here. Anyway sha, I’m so loving the thrills and frills that come with being a citizen of Naija. A country made up of people with different shades and drama that reverberates like a clanging cymbal.
It is only in this country that somebody will post something educative and inspiring on social media and get only 5 likes contributed by 3 good family members and 2 loyal friends. But post gossip matters and boom! You will get 15k likes, 150k comments, 500k shares. Worse still you will get more “social media haters” and “pepper dem gang” friends. Then a group of
 https://farmweek.com/instagram-targets-fake-accounts-likes-and-comments/

small girls with a big God looking like maps after several encounters with bleaching cream will be there envying you especially if your post is about a recent achievement. This one is a very serious it is a gen-gen something o! It is now even worse na sef; it’s now one week, one trouble – from rape then ruga to now senator slappy slappy. I tire sef for these wahalas walai!

Lemme advice you na but you wee say I did not teh you, if you don’t want to buy original fake things, then avoid looking at things when using public transport. Yes o, you wee see one somebody selling Apple phones and laptops, and they will boast they ordered it directly from Steve Jobs, the brain behind the inventions. Buy it and sorry will be your name. Nonsense and ingredients! Me sef I tire for you that even thought of buying it. Abi you don’t have sense or are you a yahoo person?

Then you wee see people selling the national lunch-pack of every Nigerian – Gala and Lacasera. The way these sellers will pursue after your bus if you tell them you want to buy will make you wonder why Naija is yet to produce an athlete as good as Usain Bolt. It’s not our concern sef. After buying, it is either the gala is expired or the lacasera is not full (maybe the seller drank it to use it to press conscience).

Anyway sha this is what makes this country sweet sef. All these drama will make you forget that there is hardship in the country. Finally there’s no place like home.
Enjoy my contri pipo till next time we meet. My name na Obichi

Masked evil from blood-sucking schemers
Hell is the end, but it will never get better
We sold our rights to heavyweight bandits just to make ends meet
It was a means to an end, but now all we get are evil deeds
Our democracy has been raped; our walls of our hearts have been broken
There’s no peace in our settlements because our territories are about to be stolen by total strangers
Frustration on our minds that make our hearts beat faster
We are ready to die to have our freedom quicker
Our desire for a better future seems like a long-distant journey with no destination

Blood and Mourning, wailing and crying in the streets
Our hurts bear pains, yet they don’t care about how we feel
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, it’s a sad story we will have to tell someday about how we lived
We are own enemy, the ones we never want to meet at ungodly hours.

CAREER GROWTH: WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR CAREER PROSPECTS

Why do most people always feel happy on weekends when they don’t have to be at work? What’s the reason for peoples’ lack of productivity in their workplace? Why do some people seemingly look like square pegs in round holes in their jobs or in the course of study? The answer is not far-fetched; the reason is because they have little or no knowledge on the essence of Career Prospecting. A Research was conducted in the year 2000 at University of Ibadan, Nigeria. It was also revealed that 236 Graduating Medical students were asked this question: “If given a second opportunity, would you study medicine again? Interestingly, 24 percent said they would still study medicine, while the remaining 76 percent said they wouldn’t. Come to think of it, they all were already medical doctors. The 76 percent group might just have been influenced by pressures from family, peers, or being enticed by the prestige and honour accorded to medics. Just like them, more people are making the same mistake studying and working in career they have ability for. According to the Bureau of Labour Statistics, the average person spends 8.8 hours per day at work which is a little above 9,000 per hours per year which equates to one-third of your life. This much time cannot be given to a job or spent on career that won’t guarantee or give you life fulfillment. Everything is made clearer and better with the right knowledge of Career Prospecting.

WHAT IS CAREER PROSPECTING
There’s a popular saying that “you don’t test deep waters with both feet”. That is absolutely right. Before you think of studying a course or charting a career, then you need to first do your findings. This will give you the required knowledge on what exactly you are committing yourself into. To have a broader understanding of what Career Prospecting is all about, first let’s define both terms.

What is Career?
There are a lot of definitions of Career, but here’s my definition:

“A career is a profession, calling or field of endeavour for which someone trains and considerably undertakes as a means of earning a living or as one’s life work - as a means of fulfilling purpose.”
According to Wikipedia; the online encyclopedia, the word “career” ultimately originates from the Latin word “carrus” which means “wheeled vehicle”. In other words, a career is a vehicle that helps one progress in life through training and experience.

What is Prospecting?
The word “prospect” is from the Latin word “prospectus” which means “a view or outlook”

This means “Career Prospecting” has do with taking a good view on which field of endeavour, profession or calling has the best possibilities for you.

With theses definitions in mind, it is much easier to understand the whole essence of Career Prospecting. But for further understanding, and to also help you make the right choice in order to aid your career growth, you need to identify the ways you can go about finding the prospect of any career.

Here are three (3) ways you can do so:

1.    DO A SELF-EVALUATION

It is said that first and best victory is to conquer self. The right way to do is to be ypur own critic. Don’t get me wrong, doing self-evaluation doesn’t mean that you are not good enough or that you should be harsh on yourself. But rather it is about knowing your ability by getting an honest feedback via evaluation tests. You can solicit for some constructive criticisms from honest friends too. I also recommend you do a Personal SWOT Analysis. Through this, you are to discover your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. This becomes more helpful as it will help to be able to align yourself with the career opportunities that suit your analysis. More so, if you are currently working, it will help to communicate your current state of mind, and help you create an action-plan to improve your workplace performance.

2.     BE ON A LIVE UPDATE

The world is gradually moving from the Industrial age to the Information age. So, the need to be on a live update is very expedient. It is often said that a man is either old or young at 80 or 20 if he keeps learning or if he stops learning. The decision to learn, unlearn and relearn is very essential in Career Prospecting. Whether you are a fresher, an entrepreneur or an engaged worker, it pays to be armed with current information in your industry, and potential career. Magazines, news sites, and blogs can all help you become a master in your chosen field and propel your career forward. Being able to know and share recent trends and findings from a career-minded standpoint show you have a growth mindset.

3.    NETWORK
No one is self-made because no man is an island. We all need the input of others in what we do in order to become who we desire to be. There are countless times I made and also received referrals in my workspace. Building meaningful relationships that can sharpen your professional sensitivity; enhance what you do; and take you beyond the boundaries of mediocrity is very important for personal success. By building and sustaining professional social networking profiles, seeking mentorships, attending seminars and workshops, and participating in forums, you sure increase your chances of creating powerful connections that can boost your career prospects. Get to know the best people in your field of endeavour, study their success secrrtes and if possible build a relationship with them. The Law of Attraction says thatLike begat like”. Be nice and do yourself the favour.

Cheers!

CAREER LEADERSHIP: 5 LEADERSHIP SKILLS YOU NEED FOR CAREER ADVANCEMENT

The difference between a successful career person and a mediocre is leadership. Possessing good leadership skills can help you make the quantum leap from mediocrity to significance in your workplace. The key to being an influential figure in your profession is by developing leadership skills that can position you for opportunities that will change your life. The Pareto Principle states that 80 percent of professionals in any field of endeavour will enjoy 20 percent in any field of endeavour, while 20 percent of professionals will enjoy 80 percent benefits in any field of endeavour. Obviously, you’ll agree with me that enjoying 80 percent benefit is bigger and better. So, your number one goal is to be in the top 20 percent in your profession. You can achieve this by developing leadership skills that will accelerate you to the top.

Here are 5 key leadership skills that can advance your career:

   1.   PROBLEM-SOLVING/CRITICAL THINKING
To be influential in your profession, then you need to be a critical thinker. Good career leaders are able to foresee potential problems before they occur. Also, they also identify solutions to these problems so as to prevent the damages these problems might try to create. Another important critical thinking ability of top career leaders is that they look out for potential opportunities and take full of advantage of them to benefit their organizations and the people in their workspace. They have an ability to have things under control by proffering solutions to the needs of their workplace.

    2.   LEARNING AGILITY
The ability and willingness to learn is an important quality of career leaders. As a person aspiring to be one, you need knowledge to be able to give direction to others. A Study by the JJHournal, learning aGility and leadership competence are positively correlated. It also revealed that with regards to career growth, employees with remarkable learning ability received higher compensation over a ten-year period compared to those with low learning agility. Leadership Expert, John C. Maxwell once said: “Show me a reader, and I’ll tell you a leader.” You cannot diffuse learning from leadership, and vice versa.

    3.   INNOVATIVE THINKING
Leadership and innovation are like Siamese twins. Being innovative can help you lead positive changes in your workplace. Innovative leaders create new ideas can transform the fortunes of their organizations, manage change through out-of-box solutions at can still make their organizations competitive and profitable. Innovative career leaders take on the responsibility of making their organizations make the quantum leap from good to great with their exceptional ideas.

    4.   GOOD COMMNICATION SKILLS
Good career leaders know how to communicate their ideas to other people. This means working on various ways you can make people understand the message you’re intending to pass cross to them in a simple and effective way. You can improve your communication skill through the following ways:
·       Paying attention to your speech by avoiding grammatical blunders, controversial statements that could send negative vibes.
    ·       Actively listening to people with rapt attention when they speak.
   ·      Taking classes in public speaking and speech presentations is a no-brainer.
   ·   Taking note of key points when communicating with people is important as it shows you value them and their opinions.

You can be a great communicator if you can consciously and intentionally work on improving your communication skills.

    5.   RELATIONSHIP BUILDING SKILL
Good career leaders have the ability to building powerful and meaningful relationships with people. They do so by listening to people and communicating their ideas to them. They take out time to understand and help people become better. It is often said that leaders must first touch the heart, before they can ask for a helping hand. If you desire to be a successful career leader, then you need to be empathetic towards people which mean you need to develop your emotional intelligence. Help them to modify their weaknesses and magnify their strengths.

NA ONE WAY SURE PASS, BUT...

Just the other day, I heard a neighbour of mine complaining how things have been difficult for him. He stated in clear terms that he can't even afford to provide a meal how much more three-square meal for his family.

“Them say na who wear shoe know how and where e dey pain am.”

I felt pity for him and had to encourage him to be positive. But to my shock, he told that his mind was already made up to do yahoo(fraud).

“Afterall any which way na way”, he said

The Miranda right quote got hold of me and also kept me silent. I couldn't speak a word again as obviously anything I do or say will be used against me. I thought I had seen it all until a fight ensued last week in a cab I entered while going for a training session.

“Abi na you carry me come Port Harcourt come work? Abeg give me my complete money before I change am for you ooo”, the driver hurled at a passenger.

After much banter, the passenger's ego that we thought to be bulletproof vested was shot to pieces and he paid. He angrily brought out a 'herdsmen N50 note' that looked very much like the condition of the country. He looked frustrated and downcast.

Realistically life is difficult in this country, and it is no surprise people are doing everything possible just to make ends meet. 'One way' has become the order of the day as people look for shortcuts to success. For most people, the fast way is the best way. The driver is ready to follow the wrong lane just to count enough trips to double his hustle.

“Na anywhere belle face nai be way o”

Your next door neighbour is ready to sell fake goods just to as many as possible to put food on his/her table. The worst are the market sellers that use configured cups to sell garri and rice in the market. Thinking their injustice isn't enough; if you're not smart they will use the bottom of the cup to measure and sell for you. Walai...they will not make heaven. Their wickedness is something from the devil's evil handbook.

Even the patient dog waiting for the fattest bone is tired of waiting and is looking for his own one way. It's either he bites me or you for survival. Tori don worwor. Chai!...now almost everybody on social media is operating a ponzi scheme group business. You'll hear things like

"Join my loom the fastest one o, bring N500 to get self-contain"

Las las all na major scam! One way might be fast, but can lead to long-term regrets and consequences. Don't forget that it's better to trust in God because He makes everything beautiful in His time.

Love you all my contri pipo

I was hurt
Because I broke forth
I was hunted
Because I was unwanted
I did not choose this path of unsettled dust
Countless times they tried to have me gone
I was blamed for coming into their world unscathed
I was so unloved
I became their forced responsibility, and seemed to be cursed

What did I do wrong to deserve their dissent and resentment?
Their words of regret and hate statement
They made me feel like a bitch
They tried to throw me into a ditch
Obviously I was a hitch to their perfect love pitch
A leech to their fitness
A glitch to their richness
A breach in their love sweetness
They failed to realize that I was brought to them for their contentment

EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL : A GAME OF PRIDE OR DESPAIR

In just a few days time in faraway Azerbaijan, the second tier competition of UEFA will stage its grand finale. Undoubtedly, while many clubs take it for granted, this year's campaign has produced some good moments to reminisce. In the first of the All-English contest, Chelsea will compete against their London rival, Arsenal in the Europa League Final to be played in Baku. There will certainly be so much at stake for both clubs. For Chelsea, they will hoping to retain their status as top dogs in London, and beating the North Londoners will do just  fine, while also hoping that Spurs lose to Liverpool four days later in the Champions League Final. For Unai Emery's side, the challenge is on them to beat the Blues in order to qualify for the Champions league after finishing fifth in the league and a point behind their West London rivals.

Chelsea's third place finish in the league which guarantees their involvement in next season's Champions league is applaudable considering the hurdles the team had to face. The Blues will play without any form of pressure, but will rather fight to win the 16th trophy of the Abramovich era. For the Gunners, winning rather losing will be more paramount as they gradually appear to be slipping out of the reckoning into oblivion. A third year absence from Europe's top competition will be a blow to their elite status and financial state. If Chelsea win, it will be for their pride, but if they lose it will be despair after their Cabarao Cup final loss against Manchester City, therefore ending the season trophyless. If Arsenal win, it will be their first European Cup since 1996, and qualification for the Champions League will be achieved. But a loss will mean another missed opportunity to qualify for the Champions league and trophyless season. It will be a case of pride or despair depending on who will eventually be the winner or loser respectively.

Though the Europa league final might not be enough to judge the work done by either Sarri and Emery in their first season at their respective clubs, but it will be the right platform for both to build the success of their respective clubs for both the present and the future. Who will win this epic London derby final? Join the conversation in our comment section, give your prediction and have your say.

Hopefully, let the best team win. Cheers!
