HELD BOUND 4
A
strange loud knock woke me from the bed and as I made my way to the door I
noticed Diana wasn’t in the house. Perhaps she’s still pissed off with me and
actually wants “alone time’ to get over all that’s happened between us. I was
hurting too and couldn’t sleep all night. I had lost the very ones I’ve been
toiling all my life for. What more can I do to salvage things? When I opened the
door, there was no one there. But just before I closed it, I saw a
blood-stained paper note with the message: “You’ll find out who I am soon!”
I
became terrified and didn’t know what to do. Soon in the midst of my fear and
uncertain thoughts, Diana came in and headed for the bedroom. Not long after
she went in, I decided to go apologize to her, but yet again I couldn’t find
her. Then again, there was a louder knock on the door, this time and when I
opened I saw my wife in the city standing right at the entrance. She looked
troubled, razed, and flabbergasted. I inquired to know why she came around, but
her reply took me off balance.
“I
came to check on my late sister’s grave. My sister Diana died 7 years ago and I
miss her so much.”
What!
Diana has been dead all along? For seven years? Does she mean I have been
married and have a child with a ghost? Does she mean Diana is actually not a
human?
Tears
rolled down my cheeks and I suddenly began to lose my senses. Now I am held
bound for life because of the killer thoughts of sharing my life with the dead!
